Hire4Ed Corporate Work Study Program
The Don Bosco Christo Rey High School offers a rigorous college preparatory curriculum for Washington DC area students who have limited financial resources but dream of going to college. In 2009, Abacus joined a program that allows these students to gain professional work experience and earn money to pay for a portion of their school tuition. The students work at Abacus in job sharing teams of four, with each student working five full days a month and their responsibilities rotating every two months. The program offers great mentorship and provides early motivation for a career in business.
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
The Race for the Cure series raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship, and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease. The Race has become an annual tradition for the company and the Abacus employees who regularly run in the race. Abacus encourages employees to participate in the race and contributes to the cost of their entry fees.
