Our biggest differentiator is our people. Every day, our people are making a difference — to clients, each other, and their communities.

It goes without saying that doing quality work for our clients while being a great place to work is core to how we do business. But we are also committed to helping strengthen our local communities where we work and live. From employee-led volunteer and fundraising efforts that take place in our various offices to our corporate financial support of programs that make an impact in our community, Abacus Technology values service to others. A sample of our community involvement includes:

Canned Goods

Annual Food Drive

During the winter holidays, Abacus Technology contributes in the fight to prevent hunger by providing non-perishable goods to charity food banks in local areas. Over the last five years, Abacus has collected over 10,000 non-perishable food items and made a matching monetary contribution.

Hire4Ed Corporate Work Study Program

The Don Bosco Christo Rey High School offers a rigorous college preparatory curriculum for Washington DC area students who have limited financial resources but dream of going to college. In 2009, Abacus joined a program that allows these students to gain professional work experience and earn money to pay for a portion of their school tuition. The students work at Abacus in job sharing teams of four, with each student working five full days a month and their responsibilities rotating every two months. The program offers great mentorship and provides early motivation for a career in business.

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

The Race for the Cure series raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship, and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease. The Race has become an annual tradition for the company and the Abacus employees who regularly run in the race. Abacus encourages employees to participate in the race and contributes to the cost of their entry fees.
